The University of Oregon Course Connector website was conceived in 2006 as a way to make descriptions of general education courses more accessible and compelling for current and prospective students, advisors, college placement counselors, and the general public.
During the pilot phase (Spring 2007), we are offering the site with data for 36 out of the 590 or so courses that satisfy group requirements at the University of Oregon.
The site is illustrated with images drawn from the UO Libraries’ extensive collections of historic photos, UO Media Relations and faculty research sites, government agencies, and other public sources.
The first version of the site was implemented by Travis Shea (Registrar’s Office). The current site was implemented by the UO Libraries Center for Educational Technologies, with image content provided by reference librarians and Image Services.
The University of Oregon’s Course Connector is a collaborative project of the Division of Undergraduate Studies, Office of the Registrar, and the University Libraries. The project team extends special thanks to the many University of Oregon faculty and librarians who contributed course descriptions and images to the site.
